RAQUELA WINS GRAND JURY PRIZE IN MANILA
Queen Raquela won the Grand Jury Prize at Cinemanila:
"The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela, a Cinderella story with a transsexual character, received the Grand Jury Prize. The semi-documentary, a co-production between Iceland, the Philippines and France directed by Olaf de Fleur Johannesson, was this year's Teddy Award recipient at the Berlinale."
RAQUELA OPENING IN NEW YORK AND LA
LOS ANGELES – August 27, 2008 - here! Films, the theatrical distribution and worldwide sales division of here! Networks, has acquired North American distribution rights to “The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela,” a new film from Icelandic filmmaker Olaf de Fleur. Regent Releasing will distribute the film in select cities this Fall starting with New York and Los Angeles on September 26th.

"RAQUELA" WINS IN BERLIN
"The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela” a film by director Olaf De Fleur that was premiered in the Panorama main section at the Berlin film festival won the prestige Teddy awards for the best feature. The Teddy awards have been presented at the Berlin film festival from the year 1980 and last night was the twenty second time they were given away. It’s a great honor for Olaf de Fleur to have won the prize, those who have won them are among others Pedro Almodovar, Gus Van Sant and Lukas Moodyson. _See video from Berlin Film Festival |
