Circledrawers are either female or male. They live in human bodies, have many of the same desires and aspirations but, unlike humans, cannot reach a high level of spiritual awareness. They can elect to be seen or not seen by humans. That is their only power. Other than that they must live the life of, say, a low-level IRS bureaucrat, with a tight budget, a cheap company-issue uniform and, if the fates look down favorably, perhaps enough left over at the end of the month for a cappuccino or ice cream cone.

They receive their tasks from an organizational system they don't comprehend, are ordered about by no-nonsense higher-ups from "Internal" or directly from "Human Protectors."
